Understanding Smoke Mitigation

Marisa Sagil is excited to speak to the Mount Diablo CPCU society as an industry leader in the restoration marketplace. She began her career in the insurance-related industry 14 years ago. Her experience has consisted of working in the ALE/LOU business in addition to Disaster Recovery/Restoration. She is currently a National Account Manager for ServiceMaster Recovery Management in Concord, CA. Marisa also participates in many organizations such as BOMA, CCNC, CRA, SCA, IBA,  EBCA, RIMS and PLRB organizations. 
 
Marisa will share with you some costly misconceptions about smoke and odor mitigation.  She’ll explain how smoke burns what fire doesn’t.  You’ll see how acid gases flow throughout a home/business, the damage they can do and what should be done about them.  In addition, you’ll learn the steps to mitigate smoke and how the loss can be reduced through proper mitigation. Hiring a qualified mitigation company is key and handling the loss expediently is also essential.
